My family hanging out with me on my 40th birthday!
My surfing buddy Ralph came by to say hi. Marina likes his beard.
Ryan’s class did a performance of the drumming, hip hop and breakdancing that they have been learning as an enrichment course at school. Here is a video of Ryan’s break dance routine.
The chart has changed for summer. Gone are school-related responsibilities. Instead, the boys are going to devote at least 30 min/day to an art or instrument of their choice, and present their weekly creation or musical piece to us at a special family lunch every Friday. Ryan has already decided to start with clay. We also bought a membership to Tynker, which is an online course for children to learn coding. The boys will spend 30 minutes a day on the computer doing that as well. The other new category “Help Mom!” gives them a chance to offer help to me in any random household chores each day – whenever they see the opportunity. I can’t wait to see what happens with that one! They will also continue to each read three books a day to Mina (this is what they call her.) And we have swim lessons lined up. And ice cream cones in the hammock. It should be a great summer!!!
Ryan did a video project in his class – he was interviewed as Albert Einstein, after doing a tremendous amount of research into his life. We should get a copy of the video soon!
We got to see some of the great work the boys did in school this year 😊
Connor was one of six kids at his elementary school to be awarded a “perfect attendance” certificate at the last morning assembly. This means he was never tardy or absent, and didn’t miss a minute of school during the entire year! I thought Dylan should have gotten the award, for getting the kids to school on time every morning while I’m surfing 😎
